Carolina Caring Offers Families an Extra Layer of Support
Carolina Caring’s hospice and palliative care services provide skilled healthcare teams made up of local people who live in the communities they serve. These doctors, nurses, social workers and spiritual counselors offer an extra layer of support to help manage symptoms and assist with activities of daily living.
The best time to seek palliative care services is when you are first diagnosed with a serious illness like cancer or diseases of the heart, lungs or other organs in your body. Patients should seek hospice care if their illness is terminal, and they are are thought to be in the last six months of life.
An expert team of Nurse Practitioners are available locally to care for you and your loved ones. Palliative medicine services may be delivered by Nurse Practitioners Vida Owusu, NP-C, Jacqueline Brown, FNP-C and Robin Sherrill, FNP-C. If you are a hospice patient, a health care team will be assigned to assist you and your loved ones.
Palliative care services are often covered by Medicare, Medicaid and most private insurance plans. Medicare offers a Hospice Benefit for those thought to be in the final stages of terminal illness, which covers all health care costs for those who qualify.
